Walked along the boardwalk today.  What a nice walk and beautiful on the pier....stopped for a chat and a coffee afterwards.  Did a bit of shopping ....What a beautiful day.   Here is a pic of the seafood we had last night....Yummy....Heading back in the morning and on Thursday heading to  St Augustine Florida....Have to say love Myrtle Beach.   A lot of the shops and parks are closed as their season does not start until March so for us no charge for parking.....I can see how crazy this place will be starting in March.    The beach is awesome such fine sand.

Sunset End to a beautiful Day

Sea Captain Restaurant

Arrived in Myrtle Beach around 2:30pm.  Got checked in to the Courtyard Marriott.  Very nice hotel...Across the street with the Boardwalk at the Beach.   Spent an hour walking around.  Lots of small shops (outlet mall style) with Different amusements....Stopped at Johnny Rocket and they had the old fashion Jukebox I remember used to be at Paul's restaurant...nickel for a song...Still is....Took a drive along Ocean Boulevard and it reminded me of Miami Beach.  Even some of the names of the hotels are the same!!!  Beautiful beach!!!  Drove up and down the street ....Stopped at Sea Captain Restaurant for Dinner.   Gary had Seafood platter and I had the Crab Cakes(delicious but not as good as the Maryland Crab Cakes).   Beautiful sunset to end the day.   Tomorrow we will go for a walk along the boardwalk.....

Hampton Plantation McClellanville SC

Drove on Highway 17 to Myrtle Beach and saw the sign for Hampton Plantation and decided to stop by.  It was built in 1720 and it has the long driveway with the Cyprus trees lining the driveway.  So Pretty.    Now is a National Historic Site.  It is something to see how big this plantation is.  The house beside the plantation was for the slaves to cook the 3 meals a day to bring into the plantation.   The other homes for the slaves were in back, all destroyed now only a fireplace standing to show.    I got a picture inside the house of one of the fireplaces(in blue).

I got a picture sitting on the veranda.....Was imaging Orry Main(Patrick Swayze) coming up the driveway to take me away!!!!  Yep!!  Great imagination...and I am in full southern regale with a mint Julip in my hand!!!  Hahaha! 

Summerville and Walterboro SC

Went for a drive today to Summerville and went thru Walterboro on the way.  Got some pictures of some beautiful old homes and the Courthouse built in 1822.  What a gorgeous day.  It was 64F or 17C.   Tomorrow we head to Myrtle Beach for 2 days.   

Sullivans Island Charleston

We took a drive on Sunday to Hilton Head Island.  Beautiful but disappointing most golf courses and big fancy resorts.  It would be perfect for Golf Enthusiatics....Today  took a drive to Charleston and Sullivan's Island.  Beautiful island and had a great day.  A bit cooler today only 12F or 54C.  Beautiful old house on the island and the boats are beautiful.  Got a picture of the harbor of Charleston and on the way home could not resist a Pecan Pie!!!!  Yummy...

Tybee Island Savannah

Went to Tybee Island by Savannah.  Beautiful...Stopped for lunch at Crab Shack and enjoyed their specialty "The Sampler" for 2(Crab, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn).  It was all steamed...Delicious!!!!!  First time for crawfish...look like miniature lobster...see picture and this is on a small plate!!!. They have a pen with alligators...Glad I am on the other side of the fence!!  Took pictures of the shrimp boats.   Bridge from Savannah to South Carolina......All in all a fantastic day!!

Spanish Moss

Went for a drive today and love the beautiful Spanish moss hanging off the trees, doesn't it look so romantic...NOT!!  They tell me first that is not really Spanish moss, and that so called moss is filled with bugs!!!!  Darn!!  Here are 2 of the cabins available for rent.  One is a streetcar that had 2 single beds in front and a double bed in back.  Second is Caboose for you train enthusiastic!!  It has 2 bunkbeds in front and queen bed in back.   Very cool!!
