Celebrating in Savannah

This year, my lovely husband took us to Savannah for the weekend.  Had such a wonderful time.  We walked around Historic Savannah for over 2 hours.  Wow!!  Love the ambience!! Had a visit from Wendy's sister-in-law, Libby Randall.  Thanks for the history lesson.  Can't wait to return and do some touring with you!!

Christ Church in Savannah was designed in 1838.  First cornerstone for the church was laid in 1744.

Heading down to River Street, Check out the Historic Stairs!!  Did it one step at a time!!!  Very Steep!!

The Steamboats ride offer dinner cruise on board as well as moonlight cruises and sightseeing tours.

Thanks to my husband who every year makes February very special!!  What a great evening and the meal was surpurb!!  I have pecan crusted salmon on Sweet potato and Collard greens!!  Yummy!!  Gary had fried shrimp and oysters and our appetizers was 6 raw oysters(Gary) and 6 steamed oysters(me)!!

Finally our Happy Hour group is back together.  Joe and Janet Hanes came for a visit.  They will be joining us next year, yeahhh!!

We had a potluck dinner last night with Joe, Janet, Bob and Joan, Willard and Roberta, Jerry and Cheryl, Gary and I and Nick and Helen, owners joined us.

Great food, great times and great laughs!!  Can't ask for anything better!!!  Weather was awesome 75F...Yeahhh!!!

We have been seeing them a couple of times.  There is a motor attached to the gentleman with the parachute!!  Not my idea of flying!!  Hahaha!!!  We saw 4 of them last week flying around!!

Had a visit from Sarah and family.  Emma chasing the ducks!!  So sweet!!

So happy to have such a nice visit from Sarah, James, Clayton and Carol Gray and of course, Emma!!!  I was up at 5am this morning to make Sarah's favourite, Penny Buns.  Her smile said it all!!  So worthwhile!!  Love you Sarah!! As a child when she came for a visit, she would take my penny buns over dessert.  Make sure I had enough for her to take a batch with her.  To her my Penny Buns is to Lawrence my Rhubarb Pie!!!  Right Lawrence!!Haha

Happy Hour Group Get together

Lady from Ontario sold her trailer and had this flag and gave it to me.  This is for Xav, our grandson, who is half American and half Canadian!!!! We are flying it on our Motorhome!!

Had a great surprise.  Bob and Joan arrived Monday night and here they are directly across the pond from us!!!  Yeahh!!

Mustn't forget our pal, Lucky!! Gary made stuffed pork chops and vegetables and Roberta made a cabbage salad and cheesy potatoes!!  So yummy!! And for dessert, we had fresh Plant City strawberries and whipped cream!!  Excellent evening with good friends!!

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year to all.   Can't believe another year has gone by so quickly.  This is our 6th year since we began our RVing journey.  We have met some awesome people and made lifelong friends.  So thankful!  This quote says it all for me, "As you start and end your day, say "Thank You" for every little thing in your life and you will come to realize how truly blessed you are!!

It is orange picking time at the orange groves from January to April depending on the type of oranges.  You can smell the oranges in the air especially near the plants!

 Our Happy Hour got together for New Years's Dinner.  Missing Joan, Bob, Janet and Joe!!!  Wish you were here.

 Turkey with all the trimming and fresh strawberries for dessert.  Great getting together with friends!!

Christmas 2015

 Sunrise was so beautiful Christmas Eve morning.  Couldn't resist!!

Had our friends over Christmas Eve.  Very festive with the candles and lights!!  Champagne and finger food.   Great time!!

Left Christmas morning heading to Bradenton to Gerry and Amy's for Christmas Dinner.  What a great time with lots of laughs and great company.  We had steak with all the trimmings...Yummy!!

This is their living room with their new furniture.  Love the colors. Looks so bright and cheery!!

We got to skype and facebook with our children, Tracey, Dallas and Wendy.  Completed our Christmas!!  It would of been more special if our family could of been here with us.  Miss you so much!!

Christmas in Celebration Florida

Last night, Gary, Gerry, Amy and I went to see the Christmas lights and displays.  One was featured in ABC "Light Fight" and they won for best block.  It was a combination of 11 houses all synchronized together.  Awesome.  It was a great evening we began with a horse and buggy thru downtown Celebration and finished on Jeater Bend that won the 2015 Light Fight.  Great fun!!

We were taking pictures and video of this house.  The lights were done to music.  This gentleman stopped in front of the house and got out.  He saw me videotaping and told me he would videotape us in front of the house.  I did not know he was the owner so Amy and I stood in front of the veranda and it was a motion sensor figure above us that as soon as we stepped in front it started to snow.  It was so pretty and was an awesome end to a beautiful evening. 

Perfect day with a lovely BBQ Salmon Steaks!!  An early Birthday present from someone very special!!
